Weekly Tip – Tuesday 10/09/2012

 1) Did you know that October 14-20, 2012 is "Operation Safe Driver" week?  Throughout next week, a large group of government agencies and organizations across the nation are teaming up to target unsafe driving behaviors. The purpose is to educate motorists of the risks of aggressive, distracted, and fatigued driving.  The local and state police, as well as government agencies will stop, ticket, and educate CMV drivers as well as general operators displaying any unsafe driving practices. The partners involved with this initiative are the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), state and local law enforcement, as well as numerous associations, including the American Trucking Association (ATA).

One way that Profit Tools can assist your company with driver compliance (fatigue) is with the Safety/Log Auditor module.  This module complies with the FMCSR 49 CFR, Part 395, and includes functions such as driver management, log auditing, compliance reports, and much more. To learn more about the how Profit Tools can help with your company compliance, contact your trainer. Also, be sure to educate your drivers on the importance of sharing the road safely by visiting the CVSA, "operation Safe Driver" website for complete details.

2) Are you looking for an available driver to move a last minute load, but are having a difficult time gathering the necessary information? Did you know that Profit Tools has a built-in report for that?  It is the "Drivers Not Assigned" report, which can be accessed through the Reports menu. To run, select: System > Reports > Viewer > Double click on "Drivers Not Assigned".  This report can also be accessed by selecting the Reports icon at the top of your screen. ( Can't find report? Once you select the Viewer, scroll down to the "Uncategorized Reports" drop-down to reveal a listing of reports.) Once the report appears in the viewer, select the Retrieve button, then enter the desired date to display a printable list of unassigned drivers. For additional information on this, as well as other available reports, contact your trainer.
NOTE:
Profit Tools recommends that this report be added to your dynamic dashboard to make the most efficient use of the information. This will allow the user to view unassigned drivers without leaving the dashboard.
