INSTALLATION, TRAINING & GO-LIVE SUPPORT

Our training and tech support staff are all highly experienced trucking industry and software professionals, each of whom is capable of successfully installing and guiding you through the steps of implementing Profit Tools software in virtually any type or size of trucking operation. They are available to you both online and on-site, depending upon your needs and budget.

The implementation steps are as follows:

  • Assignment of project manager(s)

  • Compilation of system information including workflow/process outline, hardware, network, other software present.

  • Installation of the software, involving setup of network locations, paths, protocols, etc.

  • Setup of software, including accounting and mileage connections, multi-company or multi profit-center setup, document output, invoice numbering configurations, entry of customers, companies and locations, entry of equipment and equipment lease types, entry of employees, and a variety of other details.

  • Setup of special functions such as rate tables for auto rating and settlements, connections and configurations for auto-email notification or mobile communications, document imaging setup, fuel card or fuel tax connection. These may or may not be done prior to going live with basic functionality such as order-entry, dispatch, billing, but must be completed to achieve full functionality.

  • Custom configurations and setup (see below) may also take place before or after go-live.

  • Pre-training, which may be either general training or focused training for project managers or specific key individuals in specific areas, as a preparation for going live, and may also involve testing/revising the implementation plan by working through process issues or solving process problems before going live.

  • Go-live training and support, active training and coaching in the process of taking the software into live operation, following thorough preparation and pre-training of key individuals and project manager(s). The Implementation Plan must include the go-live plan, including the specifics of the training required at that time.

  • Because Profit Tools software is very intuitive and easy to learn, training generally involves a little "show" and a lot of "do," frequently involving more coaching than teaching. Smaller companies who need four or fewer individuals trained are usually well-suited to online training exclusively, while larger firms with more trainees will find a combination of online "pre and post training" and on-site training/go-live support to be most cost effective.
