Profit Tools recognizes the need for similar capabilities in other industries, and so designed the MO Software with the flexibility to accomodate multiple industry applications, including Construction, Field Services, and more. As such, document type identification is completely configurable to each company, division, and industry, and the web server is open to integration and document relay to any 3rd party system, not just Profit Tools for Trucking software.

Profit Tools for Trucking software is designed for carriers in the intermodal and multi mode sectors, which includes LTL, TL, brokerage, and hazmat. Profit Tools has been a leader in enabling electronic integration between trucking companies and their customers, such as steamship lines and freight forwarders, and electronic dispatch with drivers. Profit Tools began in 1995 as a joint venture between trucking company owner James P. Daley, Jr. and software specialist Brian K. Widell. Profit Tools' open design and adherence to industry standard development methodology allows its products, including MO, to be easily integrated with other software programs and systems.

Profit Tools in based in Lee, NH.  MO utilizes components from various international companies, but Profit Tools own assembly operations are conducted entirely in the USA, in Newmarket, NH.
