Profit
Tools named preferred software
partner by LoadMatch.com
Alliance enhances revenue opportunities
for
intermodal truckers and equipment visibility for shippers
through automatic equipment posting.
Profit
Tools, Inc. announced its partnership with LoadMatch,
Inc. of Naperville, IL, to enhance revenue opportunities
for both Profit Tools and LoadMatch customers. This
partnership consists of a new integration feature that
automatically connects the Profit Tools software to
the LoadMatch.com and Drayage.com websites.
The
Profit Tools system now has a new feature to
automatically post available intermodal equipment
directly into the LoadMatch.com and Drayage.com websites,
which Shippers/IMCs/Forwarders/Ocean Lines use to
search and find reload opportunities. By enabling
automatic equipment posting, the trucking company
saves time from having to manually key-in data. Since
this new automatic feed can update the LoadMatch websites
as often as every five minutes, more data can be posted
and is posted more accurately. The result is the Profit
Tools customer will have more reload opportunities,
and the LoadMatch visitor will have a more comprehensive
set of postings.
“Profit
Tools is pleased to be a trusted software partner
of LoadMatch,” said President Brian Widell of
Profit Tools, Inc. “This alliance is an important
added value to our customers, who can now pair reliable
equipment management and dispatch with a viable and
reputable revenue opportunity through LoadMatch. What’s
more, we are offering it as a free service to all
our support customers.”
Profit
Tools customers may also choose to customize restrictions
on equipment that is not intended for directory listing,
or create rules for multiple exceptions. Another option
is the ability to alias certain cities to ensure equipment
appears available without divulging customer relationships.
“We
now post about 150 containers at a time to LoadMatch.com
from Profit Tools,” said President Tom Burke
of TRX, Inc. “Because it’s automatic,
there’s no extra work for our staff. We benefit
not only from reloads being offered to us, but also
from the increased exposure of our services to the
marketplace in the regions we operate.”
LoadMatch
is not transaction-fee based, which is different from
other intermodal reload websites.
“We
are excited to have Profit Tools as a preferred partner
in our Intermodal websites,” said President
Jason Hilsenbeck of LoadMatch Inc. “Out of the
1200 draymen we have listed, Profit Tools is by far
the most used dispatch software platform and continues
to gain popularity. This alliance will enhance their
software experience tremendously.”

STEAMSHIP LINES, IMCS, AND SHIPPERS IMPLEMENT PROFIT TOOLS
EDI DIRECT™
DATA EXCHANGE
WITH TRUCKING CARRIERS
Profit
Tools, Inc. recently announced new additions to the
growing list of steamship lines, IMCs, and shippers
exchanging data directly with their trucking partners
using Profit Tools EDI Direct solutions.
Trading partners now include Evergreen, Maersk, OOCL,
ZIM, CH Robinson, HUB Group, Menlo, Pacific Cycle,
American Signature, Tyson, Kohl’s, Phoenix International,
Pearson, Penguin, Freight Brokers Global, Cass, Nestle
Waters, CHEP, Lowe’s, Headwater, Hallmark, and
Management Dynamics.
“We’re excited to have leading trading
partners like these on-board with Profit Tools EDI
Direct,” said Profit Tools President Brian K.
Widell. “Profit Tools makes EDI and other electronic
communication functions a seamless and automatic part
of the business process and using EDI Direct will
save trucking companies and their clients both time
and money.”
Profit Tools claims that their EDI Direct solutions
enable trucking carriers to reduce processing time
by as much as 15 minutes per load by reducing data
entry; reduce field issues through the relay of more
accurate information; improve turn on receivables;
and avoid costly VAN charges, which could add up to
thousands of dollars a month.
“By exchanging EDI information direct with
trading partners using internet FTP and industry-standard
data formats, Profit Tools reduces the cost of EDI
by 50- 90% when compared with methods that require
data to be transmitted through a third-party VAN,”
said Widell. “That adds up to saving thousands
of dollars per month per trading partner.”
There
are no charges to the trucker’s trading partners
for using EDI Direct. To add EDI for a supported partner
to the Profit Tools software system, trucking carriers
can expect approximately $2,300 in initial setup costs
and then a low, flat monthly service fee (no character-
or transaction-based surcharges, regardless of volume.)
Available transaction sets are Load Tender (EDI 204),
Functional Acknowledgement (EDI 997), Accept/Reject
(EDI 990), Status Update (EDI 214), Equipment Disposition
(EDI 322) and Invoice (EDI 210). Electronic Document
Delivery (EDD) for transmission of scanned documents
is a module license, available separately. Pricing
for the Profit Tools operations and dispatch software
is based on modules and number of users.

Profit Tools Win-Win Intermodal Industry Leadership Award
presented to OOCL at IANA Seminar

Profit
Tools Alliance Manger Brian Walker, left, presents
OOCL Director of Operations for Midwest and Pacific
Northwest Regions Eric Witsaman with the 2007
Profit Tools Win-Win Intermodal Industry Leadership
Award at the IANA Intermodal Operations and Maintenance
Seminar.

At
the May 2007 IANA Intermodal Operations and Maintenance
Seminar, Brian Walker presented the Profit Tools 2007
Win-Win Intermodal Industry Leadership Award to OOCL
for developing EDI DirectTM Automation for motor carriers.
EDI DirectTM saves the drayage carriers 15 minutes per
load over a manual web interface solution.
“Profit
Tools challenged Steamship Line, Rail and IMC’s
last year to review their web vendor interfaces and
asked them to consider EDI as an option for Load Tendering,
Status Updates and Billing through FTP EDI DirectTM,
without 3rd party charges,” said Profit Tools
Alliance Manager Brian Walker. “OOCL met our challenge
and made their mark as an industry leader.”
Eric
Witsaman, Director of Operations for Midwest and Pacific
Northwest Regions, received the Win-Win award on behalf
of OOCL whose dedication and leadership was key to getting
the project off the ground.
Profit Tools enables carriers to receive load tenders,
and provide status updates and invoicing as required
by IMC’s and Steamship Lines, such as OOCL, directly
from the Profit Tools Intermodal Trucking Enterprise
Management System, instead of through manual updates
via fax, phone, mail, or web interface. This solution
reduces processing time, improves turn on receivables,
and avoids costly VAN charges, saving carriers thousands
of dollars per month.
“The feedback we’re receiving from the industry
is EDI usage is increasing, and we couldn't possibly
move the volume of goods we do now if we didn't have
EDI,” said Walker. “As the industry progresses
with EDI, Profit Tools challenges all the IMC’s
and Steamship Lines to look for Win-Win opportunities
to provide automation for their Intermodal Motor Carrier
partners in the coming year.”

Unlike
most computerized dispatch systems, Profit Tools Dynamic Dashboard
lets you work with information the way you want to see it.
For many companies making the transition from T-cards to the
computer, the Dynamic Dashboard’s ability to make the
computer dispatch screen closely resemble what the dispatcher
has worked with for years on the T-card board is what makes
that transition a lot easier.

Profit
Tools helps carriers meet federal regulations requiring advance
e-manifest submission for all cross-border shipments.
Beginning
in January 2007, the 2002 Trade Act will begin phased roll-outs
that requires all trucks crossing into the United States to
submit Advance Manifest Information through the U.S. Customs
and Border Protection (CBP) Truck e-manifest. While the CBP
offers a manifest submission system through their own website,
all shipment information must be entered manually, costing
your company time and resources.
Profit
Tools, Inc. has partnered with Oceanwide Inc. to provide solutions
to carriers seeking greater automation and efficiency in complying
with the CBP e-manifest requirements.
